21 Oct Charity for Oct. 22-17: St. Louis Anti-Violence Project
The St. Louis Anti-Violence Project was founded to address the lack of services for LGBTQIA+ survivors of sexual, domestic, and other interpersonal violence. Although LGBTQIA+ people experience violence at higher rates that their cisgender and heterosexual counterparts, few service providers are willing to offer inclusive services. We believe that much of this hesitancy results from a lack of knowledge and comfort working with LGBTQIA+ people, and so we offer training and technical assistance to those agencies seeking to serve all survivors of violence. If you work with one such agency or want to get involved, reach out to us at www.stlavp.org!
